Marking the day, Light House in association with its 'Improved Justice and Legal Aid Services (IJLAS)' project also organised a post-rally discussion at Paba Upazila complex auditorium with financial support of Community Legal Services Programme. "Our Rights Our Freedoms Always" was the main theme of the day.

The discussants unequivocally called for forging a social resistance against all sorts of human rights violation for the sake of institutionalisation of democracy.
They viewed only the government or any single organisation is not capable to do the same as the situation of human rights violation has gone into far depth.
They mentioned that establishing transparency and accountability in every spheres of life including politics and civic-service sector could be effective means of ensuring human rights for all.
In his remarks, Nicholas Biswas said human rights violation has gradually been increasing in society due to various reasons like corruption, poverty and illiteracy.
However, the human rights situation should be improved in an integrated way and the young generation can play a vital role in this regard.
He said the country's institutional system need to be brought under transparency and accountability and emphasis should be given to establishing a non-communal society.
Various other organisations like local unit of Human Rights Commission, Barendra Unnayan Forum, Bangladesh Citizens Rights Forum and Diner Alo Hizra Unnayan Mohila Sangstha observed the day through separate programmes like rally and discussion meetings.
