Aref’s debut film hits cinemas tomorrow

‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’, the much-anticipated film based on a novel of the same title by Bangladesh’s late iconic writer Humayun Ahmed, will see its release tomorrow. The film is set to hit 15 cinema halls across the country, including a few halls in Dhaka. The film is directed by eminent filmmaker Morshedul Islam.
Young actor Aref Syed is going to make his film debut with the film as he will appear as Anil--the central character of the film.
While it is understandable that Aref Syed is somewhat anxious about the release of his first film, at the same time he is also equally enthusiastic about it. He expressed his thoughts, “I am extremely grateful to director Morshedul Islam for giving me the opportunity to work in a film based on a novel by Humayun Ahmed. This is my biggest achievement so far.  I have tried my utmost to portray the character of Anil Bagchi and thoroughly followed the advice of Morshedul Islam. I hope the viewers will appreciate the film.”
He also mentioned that if his performance is appreciated by the audience and they stand by him, he will aim to act regularly and also expressed his interest to work in commercial films.
To note, Aref Syed completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Economics from Columbia University. In addition to working, he also developed a passion for acting. After returning to the country, he performed in many theatre plays and eminent actress Nayla Azad Nupur was a major influence. He got the opportunity to appear in the short film titled ‘The Professionals’, directed by Alvi Ahmed and written by Sumon Jahan. Director Morshedul Alam was present during one of the screenings of ‘The Professionals’ and impressed by the actor’s performance, he gave him the opportunity to work in ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’.
