Curtain rises on 15-day event at BSA today

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), in collaboration with  Shilpakala Academy of all 64 districts, has organised a 15-day festival titled ‘Bangladesh Film Festival 2015’ at the National Art Plaza of BSA, which will simultaneously take place at the premises of Shilpakala Academy of all 64 districts.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival at the National Art Plaza of BSA today at 6pm, while Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will be present as chief guest. Presided over by BSA director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, veteran filmmaker Syed Salahuddin Zaki, Masihuddin Shaker and Morshedul Islam will be present as discussants at the event.
On the other hand, noted film maker Tareque Masud’s film ‘Matir Moyna’ will be screened as the opening film at 7pm today.
Tomorrow, Adam Dowla’s youth-oriented film ‘Boishommo’ will be screened at 10am, while Alamgir Kabir’s film ‘Shimana Periye’ and Zahir Raihan’s ‘Kacher Deyal’ will be screened at 4pm and 6pm respectively.
‘Surja Dighal Bari’, jointly directed by Sheikh Niamat Ali and Masihuddin Shaker will be screened at 4 pm and Prosun Rahman’s ‘Sutopar Thikana’ will be screened at 6pm on December 12.
Goutom Ghosh-directed film ‘Padma Nadir Majhi’, Badal Rahman’s ‘Emiler Goenda Bahini’ and Harunur Rashid’ s Megher Onek Rong’ will be screened respectively on January 12, 14 and 15 at 6pm.
December 16, on the occasion of Victory Day, two Liberation War films ‘Amar Bondhu Rashed’ directed by Morshedul Islam and ‘Guerrilla’ by Nasiruddin Yusuf will be screened at the festival at 4pm and 6pm respectively.
In addition, Subhash Dutta’s film ‘Sutorang’, Noman Robin’s ‘Common Gender’, Tareque Masud’s ‘Runway’, Murad Parvez’s ‘Brihannala’, Abu Sayed’s ‘Kitton Khola’, Akram Khan’s ‘Ghashful’ (The Flower of Grass), Saidul Anam Tutul’s ‘Adhiar’, Tanvir Mokammel’s film ‘Lalon’, Syed Salahuddin Zaki’s ‘Ghuddi’ (The Kite), Abdullah Al-Mamun’s ‘Sareng Bou’ and ‘Mrittika Maya’ by Gazi Rakayet will be screened at the festival from December 17 to 24.
To disclose the aforementioned information, a press conference was held at the National Theatre Hall of BSA on Tuesday, which was attended by veteran filmmaker Syed Salahuddin Zaki, Masihuddin Shaker, Morshedul Islam and BSA director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, among others.
