The newly appointed non-resident envoys of Cyprus, Serbia and Uruguay to Bangladesh presented their credentials separately to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban yesterday, reports UNB.
The envoys are High Commissioner of Cyprus Dometrios A Theophylactou, Ambassador of Serbia Vladimir Maric and Ambassador of Uruguay Carlos E Orlando Bonet.
Welcoming the envoys, President Abdul Hamid hoped that Bangladesh’s relations with the three countries would be strengthened further during their tenure here, president’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told UNB.
Mentioning that Bangladesh’s skilled and unskilled manpower is working in different countries across the world, Abdul Hamid urged the envoys to take steps for importing workforce from Bangladesh. During the meetings, the new the high commissioner and the ambassadors lauded the role of Bangladesh peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping missions and hoped that their role would be expanded in future.
