Cox’s Bazar: Police recovered bullet-riddled bodies of two alleged criminals, both siblings, from Himchari hillside on the Eidgaon-Eidgarh road in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Jahedul Alam alias Sifat, 28, and his brother Shahidul Alam alias Arafat-both residents of Halima Para of the district town.
Sub-inspector Minhaz Mahmud Bhuiyan, in-charge of Eidgaon police investigation centre, said locals spotted the bodies of the duo lying in the area at about 9:00 am and informed police.
Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Aslam said the two brothers might have been killed in a clash between to rival groups.
Sifat was accused in 22 criminal cases while Arafat was accused in 20 cases and both were on the top criminal list of the Home Ministry, said the OC.
