A university teacher and a schoolboy were killed in separate road accidents in Natore and Noakhali districts yesterday.
Our Natore correspondent reports: A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) was killed when a covered van hit his motorcycle in Temberpatti rail crossing area of Natore yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Professor Dr Abu Yousuf Mohammad Jahangir, 40, a teacher of Arabic Department of the university. OC of Natore Sadar Mizanur Rahman said the accident took place at about 8.00 am while he along with his son was going to his home district Sirajganj from Rajshahi by riding his motorcycle, leaving them injured.
Our Noakhali correspondent adds: A schoolboy was killed as a jeep hit him at Chatkhil Municipality area yesterday.
The deceased was Menhaj, 10, a student of class four of Chatkhil Government Primary School and son of Saifuddin Selim of Sundarpur under Chatkhil municipality.
