District police in separate drives arrested 82 people, including three Jamaat-Shibir activists, from different upazilas of the districts on Friday night. During the drive police recovered 140 pieces contraband yaba tablets from Chandanish and 117 litre of liquor.  Naimul Hasan, additional superintend of police (Special Branch) of Chittagong District said they were detained in overnight drive in various places under different upazilas on Friday night.  “Among the detainees, three were Jamaat-Shibir activists while the other were wanted accused in different cases,” he added. BSS adds: Chittagong Metropolitan Police yesterday arrested two alleged heroin traders with 45 packets of heroin from city's Motizorna area under Lalkhan Bazar here Friday night. The arrested were identified as Mohammad Aminur Rahman Hemal, 28, hailed from Banskhali upazila of the district and Nurul Amin, 39, under Savar upazila of Gazipur district. Being informed, a team of Khulshi thana police raided the area and arrested drug traders Hemal and Amin with 45 packets of heroin around 1.30 am, said Sub-inspector Omar Haider of Khulshi thana. Hemal and Amin had been involved in heroin trading in the locality for long, the SI said, adding that a case was lodged in this connection.
