Fog disrupts ferry movement, delays flights

Dense fog over the Padma river stranded nine out of 15 ferry boats for four hours early yesterday, causing immense suffering to the people travelling in buses and cars. Vehicles wanting to cross the river were also stuck.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) sources said they were unable to operate the boats across the wide expanse of the Padma as the Hajra turning point between Shimulia and Kewrakandi route was shrouded in thick fog from 3 am till 7 am, when visibility was restored.
