Institution of Journalism and Communication (IJC), a newly launched media body, arranged an interaction programme on journalism with college and university students on Friday, aiming to encourage them to take up journalism as their profession, reports UNB. The two-hour programme that began at 4:30pm was held at IJC’s Banglamotor office. Syed Badrul Ahsan, associate editor of the Daily Observer, was present at the programme as the chief guest. Abdur Razzak Khan, associate professor of Dhaka University’s Journalism Department; Shishir Morol, special correspondent of Prothom Alo; Sharmin Rinvi, news editor of Bangla Vision; Shahnaz Sharmeen, senior reporter of ABC Radio; Mahmudul Haq, Metro Desk deputy editor, of The Daily Star; and Qamruzzaman, head of Visuals and Creative of IJC, took part in the interaction and discussed the basics of print, electronic and online media and photojournalism. A group of students from different universities and colleges took part in the programme.
