The implementation status of the Annual Development Programme (ADP), including that of self-financed projects, during the first five months (July-Nov) of the current fiscal year reached 17 per cent with an overall expenditure of Tk 16,957 crore, reports UNB.
The implementation rate is, however, three per cent less than the July-November period of the last fiscal year, when the overall expenditure was Tk 16,843 crore with 20 per cent implementation rate, said Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal yesterday. The minister was speaking at a ‘Meet-the-Press’ held at the NEC Conference Room. The ADP implementation status during the July-November period of the 2013-14 fiscal year totalled 19 per cent with an expenditure of Tk 13,882 crore. The ADP implementation status figures, compiled by the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), showed that out of the overall amount in this July-November, the executing agencies could spent only Tk 11583 crore or 19 per cent from the state exchequer, Tk 4684 crore or 14 per cent from project assistance, while Tk 689 crore or 17 per cent from the organisations’ own funds.
Out of the 53 Ministries and Divisions, the Ministry of Commerce witnessed the highest implementation rate of 40 per cent, while the Internal Resources Division (IRD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saw the lowest implementation rate of one per cent each. Among the highest allocated Ministries and Divisions, Power Division spent the highest amount of Tk 3037.33 crore during the period with 18 per cent implementation rate followed by Local Government Division with Tk 4288.10 crore or 27 per cent, Bridges Division with Tk 1141.39 crore or 13 per cent, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with Tk 824.10 crore or 16 per cent, Road Transport and Highways Division with Tk 802.48 crore or 14 per cent, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education with Tk 1082.50 crore or 21 per cent, Energy and Mineral Resources Division Tk 360.85 crore or 10 per cent, Ministry of Education Tk 723.27 crore or 17 per cent, Ministry of Railways with Tk 707.13 crore or 13 per cent.
