The curtain of the 16-nation ICC U-19 World Cup will be raised with the match of England and Fiji at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chittagong on January 27.
The hosts Bangladesh will face-off defending champions South Africa in the second match of the opening day at the same venue. The final fixture of the tournament was released during the official launching ceremony yesterday at a hotel in the capital
Bangladesh will next compete against Scotland at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar on January 31. The home side will lock horns with Namibia in their last Group-A encounter at the SKICS on February 2.
Before the start of the World Cup, a total of 16 warm-up scheduled by ICC will be played at eight different venues in four days between January 22-25.
Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches prior to the onset of their World Cup campaign. The local side will first vie against Zimbabwe at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on January 23. They will next face England at the same venue on January 25.
A total of 20 matches including four from Chittagong, nine from Mirpur and seven from Fatullah will be telecast live around the world.
