Bangladesh Army kept their domination in the 28th Marcel National Boxing competition retaining the championship with winning six gold medals while Ansar was the champion in the women’s division.
Bangladesh Army won six gold, two silver and four bronze medals, while Ansar was runners-up with one gold one silver and four bronze medals followed by the third positioned Bangladesh Police who won two silver and a bronze medals.
In the women’s division, Bangladesh Ansar won three gold medals to be the champions and Bangladesh Police were runners-up with winning one gold and two silver medals.
Meanwhile, it would be the first time that Bangladesh will compete in Olympic Games in the boxing. Mohammed Al Amin, who won sixth gold in a row in the national competition since 2009, has been selected to represent Bangladesh in Rio Olympics next year.
