President Abdul Hamid yesterday urged Qatar to take more skilled manpower from Bangladesh ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022 to be hosted by the gulf country, reports UNB.
The president made the request when newly appointed Ambassador of Qatar to Bangladesh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Nasser Al-Dohalmi presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban.
Welcoming the mew envoy, President Hamid said Bangladesh has huge skilled, semiskilled and unskilled manpower and Qatar can take its required manpower from Bangladesh as there will be huge development works ahead of the World Cup football to be hosted by Qatar.
President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
Abdul Hamid hoped that the existing bilateral relations, including trade and investment, between Bangladesh and Qatar will be strengthened further during the tenure of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Nasser Al-Dohalmi.
He also underscored the need for exchanging visit of high-level delegations between the two countries for mutual benefits.
