1 held with gold bars in capital

Police arrested an elderly man in possession of five gold bars weighting 340 gram from Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Monday morning, reports UNB. The arrestee was identified as Balai Pal, 62. Sub-inspector of Kamalapur Government Railway Police Station Rafiqul Islam said 'Turna Nishita' express train from Chittagong arrived at the station around 8:20am. Being tipped off, a Government Railay Police (GRP) team challenged Balai while he was de-boarding the train. Later, the law enforcers recovered five gold bars searching the body of Balai. A case was filed in this connection, the news agency added.
