2 DU students held over sexual harassment

Police yesterday detained two students of Dhaka University following a complaint filed by a female student of the university for ‘harassing her sexually’, reports UNB. The detainees are Ashfaque Al Noor, a master’s degree student of History Department and Asad Shah, a 4th year student of the same department. DU acting Proctor Prof M Amzad Ali said a female student of the History Department submitted a written complaint to the university authorities in the morning accusing the duo of harassing her sexually. According to the complaint, the duo sent indecent messages to the girl through mobile phone and verbally abused her over phone, said the proctor. He said the university authorities will take necessary actions against the offenders.
