Youth kills friend, self

A young man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself after stabbing a friend to death at Haripur in Sadar upazila yesterday morning. The deceased were Sujan Ali, 18, a first-year student of Amla Government College, and his friend Palash, 22. Witnesses said Palash intercepted Sujan and stabbed him indiscriminately with a sharp weapon while he (Sujan) was going to Haripur Bazar at about 8:45 am, leaving him critically injured. Local people rescued Sujan; but he died while being rushed to Kushtia General Hospital. After the incident, Palash entered the room of his relative Alam and closed the door from inside. Later, Palash was found hanging from the ceiling of the room.  Police recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
