Transport owners and workers went on an indefinite strike in the district yesterday demanding that the government impose a ban on plying of human haulers on the highways, reports UNB from Panchagarh.
Apel Mahmud, general secretary of Panchagarh Transport Owners Association, said they have called the nonstop strike as the local administration failed to stop movement of human haulers like Nasimon, Karimon and battery-driven Easy-bike on the busy roads and highways. District Motor Owners’ Union and three transport workers’ associations jointly announced the programme.
