2 killed, 3 hurt in Khulna road accident

KHULNA: Two people were killed and three others injured when a Kushtia-bound passenger bus collided head-on with an easy bike here yesterday, reports BSS. Maruf Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station said the accident took place at around 1.30 pm in rail gate area under Daulatpur Police Station in the city. A passenger bus named 'Rupsha Express' collided with the battery-run easy bike coming from the opposite direction, leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot and three others injured, police sources said. The injured were rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), where duty doctors declared two of them dead. Three other passengers were admitted to KMCH. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Police seized the killer truck but its driver managed to flee.
