The ASA (Association for Social Advancement) established 24 new primary healthcare centres recently in remote areas of Khulna, Sirajganj, Mymensingh, Natore, Faridpur, Naogoan, Barisal, Panchgrah, Rajshahi, Chandpur, Thakurgoen, Manikganj, Comilla, Laxmipur, Dinajpur, Sunamganj, Noakhali, Lalmonirhat, Rangpur, Bhola, Patuakhali, and Joypurhat districts, says a press release.
With these the number of primary healthcare centres under its heath programme has reached 49.
Health programme of ASA renders necessary healthcare services to the people living in rural areas, said sources.
About five lakh people, mostly poor and underprivileged, are being provided with treatment and health advisory services through the programme in 2015. The organisation has a plan to set up 10 more healthcare centres next year.
