Man killed over land dispute in Pabna

An elderly man was killed and his son injured in a clash between two rival groups over a land-related dispute at Sinduria Boruria village at Aminpur in Sujanagar upazila of the district on Friday noon, reports UNB.
The deceased was Sohrab Molla, 65, a resident of the village.
Inspector (Investigation) of Aminpur police station Mofijul Haque said Sohrab Molla and Mati, also a resident of the village, had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
On Friday, when Sohrab and his son Shahin Molla were seeding on the land, Mati and his followers obstructed him and beat up him around 4pm, leaving them injured.
Later, locals sent Sohrab to Pabna General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 5pm.
A case was filed in this connection.
