Hindu priest hurt in Sylhet attack

Sylhet: A Hindu priest was injured as some miscreants carried out an attack on a cremation ground at Chalibandar in the city on Friday morning, reports UNB. The injured was identified as Ruhun Chakraborty, a priest of Chalibandar Shashan (cremation ground). Locals said a group of miscreants, identifying themselves as ruling party activists, had been carrying out extortion and terror activities in the area for a long time. A few days back, they went to Chalibandar cremation ground and demanded some money as toll from the priest, Ruhun Chakraborty. However, Ruhun refused to give the money which angered the hoodlums. Later the bandits stormed the cremation ground on Friday morning and stabbed Ruhun indiscriminately around 8am, leaving him injured.
