Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday strongly criticized Islamabad’s remarks on execution of two Bangladeshi politicians convicted of war crimes during the War of Liberation in1971, reports BSS.
“Pakistan’s reaction on the two death-row war crimes convicts - Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid - is not acceptable . . . it seems that Pakistan Government has behaved like an enemy state,” he said while exchanging views with the local journalists at Sherpur Circuit House auditorium. We have to reconsider relations with Pakistan, he said
On war crimes trial issue in Bangladesh, Inu, also a
liberation war hero, said, “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman prepared a list of 12,000 war criminals and their trial will continue in phases.”
The information minister said a “Thathya Bhaban” (Information Building), will be built for journalists in each district.
Shirin AKhter MP, Deputy Commissioner of Sherpur Dr Parves Rahim, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mehedul Karim and representatives of Sherpur Press Club, among others, were present on the occasion.
