Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and Paschimbanga Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee jointly inaugurated Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati and Dhaka-Agartala-Kolkata bus services at the Prime Minister’s Office here yesterday, reports UNB.
They flagged off three buses to Kalkata, Agartala and Shillong at around 3:45pm.
Hasina, Modi and Mamata got board on three buses and exchanged pleasantries with passengers.
Mamata handed over a Kalkata-Dhaka symbolic bus ticket to Sheikh Hasina while Modi handed over Agartala-Dhaka bus ticket to the Bangladesh Prime Minister before launching the Bangladesh-India bus service.
Besides, Sheikh Hasina handed over a Dhaka-Shillong symbolic bus ticket to Narendra Modi.
On the inauguration of the services, the Indian PMO tweeted, “Increasing people-to-people contact and connecting the two nations...flagging off the bus services.”
