Bridal party trawler looted in Munshiganj

Munshiganj: Robbers looted valuables, including cash and gold ornaments, from a trawler carrying a bridal party on the Meghna River at Bakchar village in sadar upazila on Friday night, reports UNB. Kalam, a member of the wedding party, said a gang of 10-12 robbers on an engine-run trawler intercepted the trawler carrying the bridal party while they were returning home with the bride from Mirershwar in Munshiganj in the night. At one stage the robbers kept all the passengers of the trawler hostage at gunpoint and started beating the passengers, leaving six people injured. Later the robbers looted valuables. Yunus Ali, OC of sadar police, confirmed the matter.
