Current nets, polythene seized

Members of Coast Guard in a drive seized 2.40 lakh meters current nets and 800 kg polythene bags worth Tk 48.20 lakh from launch ghat area of the district town on Friday night. Coast guard sources said being tipped off, a patrol team conducted a drive in the area at night and seized the nets and polythene bags. Later, the seized current net was destroyed and the polythene bags were handed over to the Environment Department.
