At least eight people were injured in a clash between the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Cox’s Bazar district town yesterday night, reports UNB. The clash took place after Shibir activists allegedly slashed the tendon and a portion of the nose of a local BCL leader. The injured BCL leader was identified as Rajibul Islam Mustak, 20, joint secretary of Cox’s Bazar Gov College unit and a third year student of political science department. Ishtiaque Ahmed Joy, president of district BCL, said Shibir activists attacked Mustak and slashed his tendon and nose, hit him in the head with hammer at Hospital Road near the district Jamaat office. Later, locals took the injured to Sadar Hospital where doctors referred him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
