Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha yesterday commented that the mother language Bangla should be practiced in the higher judiciary for developing the native culture.
“The mother language should be started in the judiciary. Judges of the trial court delivered the verdict in Bangla language. Some High Court judges are practicing Bangla and I think that I would deliver one or two case verdicts in Bangla language,” the chief justice SK Sinha made the comments while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion in the capital.
Deshiyo Sangskriti Parishad, an organization promoting local culture, organised the discussion titled ‘Mother Language and Native Culture’, which was held at the Supreme Court Auditorium yesterday.
“We have to practice more and more in order to develop our mother language,” the chief justice said.
