West Indies swashbuckling opener Chris Gayle is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh to enthrall the local spectators of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) today.
He will play for Barisal Bulls in the ongoing third edition of BPL this year. Before coming to Dhaka, the specialist batsman in Twenty20, Gayle, promises runs galore on arrival in the Twenty20 tournament of the BPL-3. In response to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official twitter account, Gayle said, “Book another on my arrival.”
Abdul Awal Chowdhury Bhulu, one of the owner of the Barisal Bulls, confirmed the arrival schedule of Gayle and said that he is all set to land in Bangladesh tomorrow.
“Gayle will come tomorrow evening. He’ll play the rest of the preliminary matches from the next Dhaka phase. If we can go through the next stage he’ll also play the match for Bulls,” said Abdul Awal Chowdhury after Bulls’ fifth victory against Rangpur Riders in Chittagong.
Barisal Bulls already played six matches of the preliminary outings of the tournament and earned 10 points from five wins so far. If Gayle arrives prior to the start of the third phase he will then play four matches of the remaining preliminary phase. Gayle inserted his name in BPL history as the first centurion. He slammed three centuries just playing six matches in the past two editions.
