Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) yesterday congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she was named among the world’s 100 leading global thinkers, reports UNB.
Foreign Policy, a Washington-based prestigious magazine, named the PM in recognition to her outstanding contributions to addressing the issues of climate change.
The DCCI thinks that the accolade given to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh along with other world leaders demonstrates her sagacity and acumen as a forefront leader to champion the climate and environmental issues in the global arena, according to a DCCI statement.
“DCCI believes that the government’s inclusive planning strategy to mainstream climate issues has been recognised by this international recognition and it will increase country’s positive image in fighting against climate change issues,” it said.
