Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Tangail sued six people, including a UP chairman and secretary of Kokdohara UP, in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on charge of grabbing 450 decimals of land through forged deeds. Sub-assistant director of Tangail ACC Mustafa Borhan Uddin Ahmed lodged the case with Kalihati police station yesterday. The accused are Ferhad Hossain, sitting chairman of Kokdohara UP, secretary of the UP Noor Mohammad, deed writer Nurul Amin, Abdul Kader, Sukur Mahmud and Abdul Khaleque of village Induti Konabari.
The case in brief is that one Boloram Ghosh alias Bolai Chandra Ghosh of village Induti Konabari in Kalihati Upazila died on 5 June 1979. He had 450 decimals of land there. One Abdul Kader, son of late Ibrahim Mondol of the same village registered 290 decimals of the land on January 20, 1981showing a fake deed. His two other brothers -- Md. Hosen Ali and Sukur Mahmud – similarly registered 160 decimals of the land left by Boloram Ghosh on February 14, 1981. The case reveals that the then Sub-Register Ferdous Ahmed, deed writer Nurul Amin (637) and Chairman Ferhad Hossain, secretary Noor Mohammad helped the two registered lands with the fake deeds. After an investigation the grabbing of land has been proved. The ACC, which has enough proof, has lodged the case accusing the six.
