In one of the country’s largest gold hauls, officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport seized around 37 kg of gold from a flight of Emirates Airlines yesterday, reports UNB. Sources at the airport said the airlines flight landed at the airport from Abu Dhabi around 4:55 pm. Cleaning staff of the airport spotted a packet under a seat of the aircraft while cleaning it. Informed, officials of different agencies, including customs and Airport Armed Police (AAP), stormed the plane and seized the packet, said senior ASP Alamgir Hossain of the AAP. Once opened around 6:45 pm, huge gold bars weighing around 37 kgs were recovered from the packet, he said.
