Online entry process for govt schools begins today
The online admission process for government schools in all divisional cities, except Chittagong and district headquarters, will begin across the country today. The application process will begin at 10:45am and will end at 12 midnight of December 13, according to education ministry sources. The opening was scheduled for December 1 midnight, but the time was changed, the ministry said. The opening of the admission process will be inaugurated by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at Dhanmondi Government Boys High School. Among others, state minister for post and telecommunication, Tarana Halim, will be present as special guest.
All the 38 government schools in the capital have been classified into three groups. A candidate can apply for one school in each group. The application will be available at the website www.gsa.teletalk. com.bd. Each application will cost Tk. 150 and the money has to be paid through the state-owned mobile company, teletalk. As per the report of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (DSHE), of the 38 government schools in the capital, 14 will admit students in Class I and there are 1,750 seats. The number of vacant seats from Class I to Class IX is over 9,000. The admission in Class I will be held through lottery on December 26. The admission for Class II to Class VIII will be held through written exams. The admission test for Group A will be held on December 17, for Group B on December 18 and Group C on December 19. The admission in Class IX will be carried out on the basis of the JSC and JDC results.
