3 held with firearms

Police arrested three people along with three pistols, six magazines and 20 rounds of bullets from a bus at Kansat in Shibganj upazila of the district on Sunday night.
The arrestees were Jonny of Hujrapur area and Rubel Hossain of Chhatrajitpur area in the district town and Shamim Hossain of Doulotpur upazila of Kushtia district.
Officer-in-charge of Shibganj police station SM Moinul Islam said tipped-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘RP Paribahan’ at about 10:30 pm. After searching the passengers of the vehicle, law enforcers seized the pistols and bullets. A case was filed in this connection.
