A workshop on “Strengthening Capacity and Knowledge on Environmental and Social Risk and Opportunity Management” took place in the capital recently, says a press release.
A total of one hundred and fifty bankers from investment, credit, legal and compliance divisions participated in the six workshop sessions. The training focused on building knowledge, capacity around critical environmental, social risk management and capturing green finance opportunities.
The training sessions were jointly organised by FMO, DEG, Proparco, OeEB, UNEP FI, Eastern Bank, Brac Bank, City Bank, Dutch-Bangla Bank and IDLC. FI Konsult and SFA, two international sustainability firms facilitated the training sessions.
Sohail R K Hussain, MD and CEO of City Bank, attended the closing session as keynote speaker and distributed completion certificates amongst the participants.
