The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses—Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - gained yesterday, the second trading day of the week, reports UNB.
The DSE key index, DSEX slightly gained 0.23 points or 0.01 per cent to close at 4580.99 on the day. Of the 318 issues traded, 126 gained, 157 declined and 36 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 455.56 crore changed hands at the DSE yesterday against Tk 405.02 crore on the previous day.
Malek Spinning topped the 10 gainers’ list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Simtex Industries, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, Hmithun Knitting, Anwar Galvanizing, BD Thai Aluminium, BSRM Steels, BD Welding Electrodes, Bank Asia and Northern Jute Manufacturing.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 26.20 points to reach 14005.91 at close yesterday. Of the 239 issues traded, 81 advanced, 122 suffered loss and 36 remained unchanged.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were BSRM Steels, Beximco Pharma, Ifad Autos, Square Pharmaceuticals and KDS Accessories.
