A Chittagong court yesterday granted four-day remand for four people including Saiful Alam Liom, former | assistant secretary Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central committee over seizure of arms on November 25 from his city’s resident. “Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Farid Alam passed the remand order when the four accused were produced before the court with a 7-day remand plea by police,” said, Nirmalendu Bikash, Additional Commissioner (Prosecution) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP). The others were identified as Limon’s car-driver Towhidul Islam Towhid, and two followers of Limon Saddam Hossain and Azizul Haque. On November 25 night, Rapid Action Battalion of Chittagong (RAB-7), in a drive arrested them and seized a foreign-manufactured pistol, three one-shooter guns, four magazines and six rounds of bullet from their possession at Lalkhan Bazar area under Khulshi Police Station in the city. On Thursday, Deputy Assistant Director of RAB-7 Abdul Majid lodged a case against the four arrested under arms act with Khulshi Police Station around 3:30pm.
