ACC launches campaign

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday launched a campaign in the capital urging all to raise their voice against corruption and participate in its December 10 public hearing, reports UNB. ACC Commissioner Dr Nasir Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the pre-public hearing campaign at the ACC head office in the capital in the afternoon. The national anti-graft body will hold the public hearing at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on services provided by the Assistant Commissioners and Sub-registrars’ offices of Tejgaon, Gulshan, Katwali and Sutrapur areas. The city dwellers, who have the bitter experiences of sufferings in availing themselves of services from those offices, can take part in the public hearing to raise their allegations against the government officials responsible for that.
Aiming to ensure the participation of common people, the ACC is carrying out the pre-public hearing campaign involving several horse carts to distribute leaflets and using loudhailers to attract people to the public hearing.
During the campaign, people will be requested to register their names in the ACC head office or its Dhaka divisional office or members of local Corruption Prevention Committees before December 7 next to take part in the hearing.
