Mass awareness stressed to establish rule of law

Former Chief Justice M Tafazzal Islam yesterday laid emphasis on creating mass awareness about legal rights to help the country in establishing rule of law, reports BSS. "It's not possible to establish rule of law in the country by only framing laws. We also need to aware ourselves about it," he said while speaking at a reception programme at Supreme Court Bar auditorium in the capital. Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) organised the reception programme on honor of founder of Rehabilitation of Paralysed (CRP) Dr Valerie Taylor.
Chairman of Human Rights Commission Dr Mizanur Rahman, Senior lawyer Barrister Rafiqul Haque, Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Abdul Matin Khoshru, MP, and Supreme Court Bar Secretary Barrister AAM Mahabub Uddin Khon also spoke on the occasion, among others. Barrister Rafiqul Haque urged lawyers to step forward for involving themselves in various humanitarian activities.
