Udichi anniv celebration ends

A two-day programme, marking the 47th founding anniversary of central unit and 40th anniversary of Barisal unit of Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, ended in the city yesterday. On the second day a seminar was held at Ashwini Kumar Hall with Biswanath Munshi, president Udichi Barisal unit, in the chair. President of central Udichi Shilpi Gosthi Shangkar Shawjal and Badiur Rahman, secretary of central Udichi Shilpi Gosthi Probir Sardar, with local units Udichi leaders including Mozammel Hosen, Khalid Hosen Abu, Snehangshu Kumar Biswas spoke, among others.
In the seminar speakers demanded immediate ban on religion based politics like Jammat-Shibir to uphold the secular characteristics of the nation and country. Two noted cultural personalities of Barisal district were accorded reception in the programme for their life term achievements. The awarded cultural personalities are Narayan Saha and freedom fighter Mohiuddin Amnik Bir Pratik. The programme began in the city on Friday. President of Udichi Pirojpur unit Advocate MA Mannan inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
