Playing his first match in the ongoing BPL, Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Kulasekara gave a talismanic impetus in Comilla Victorians’ facile eight-wicket win over Barisal Bulls on Wednesday.
He conceded just eight runs in his three overs to claim three wickets which effectively skittled Bulls out for 89 runs. Bulls bowlers earlier defended 155 and 108 runs successfully, so they were confident if they could go past 100, they would be highly motivated to clinch yet another low-scoring thriller.
Kulasekara’s probing spell ensured they wouldn’t go past 100 and thus he laid the foundation to be unarguably the best in the match.
