Shakib happy to contribute for team

Bopara blames batsmen for playing rash shots
Sports Reporter

Bangladesh iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan started showing his No.1 World ranking worth with bat and ball when he helped his team taste the successive victory by firing his performance one after another in BPL.
After returning from USA, Shakib was not up to the mark in the first two matches. Soon after, he was named back-to-back man of the match for this outstanding performance. He struck an unbeaten 24 alongside took 4-14, the best in this BPL, which guided the triumph for Riders against Dhaka Dynamites. He then grabbed 3 for 31 following top-scoring 33 for the team against Sylhet Super Stars.
“I batted well from the start of the match. But the confidence level declines when the wicket started losing at the other end. I thought I could bat well after hitting one-two boundaries. It’s very tough to hit boundary after six overs. Thereafter, I was in the wicket for sometimes that was needed for me. Overall, I’m happy. From this stage, it may be better,” Shakib Al Hasan said yesterday.
“I always try to contribute to the team. I want to give my best effort for the team whether I play for. I feel very sad in everywhere I go home, dressing room or hotel. Actually I never want to get such feeling,” Hasan told media at post-match.
The left-handed all-rounder said that today’s match was important for them to be stayed in the contention with first or second.
“Winning the match was important for us. By winning the match we actually went ahead. We won three out of four matches. We have great chance ahead to be top or second. I’m happy after every win. But I feel very excited to win in the close match,” he thought.
He said that the nature of wicket changes for holding matches one after another with any break.
“Wicket was not for 109 what we scored. But we should score a bit more in the surface. It was for 130-135 runs,” the 28-year-old said about wicket.
He said that he devised the plan to give single at the crucial moment that they executed properly.
On the other hand, Sylhet Super Stars England recruit Ravi Bopara blamed the rash shots selection for the shocking defeat and said that they should fix a right-left combination ahead.
“I don’t blame anybody but I think our batting wasn’t good enough. Very bad shots played. It is hard to score out there. It is not like a regular T20 when you score eight an over. I’ve got nothing good to say about our batting. It’s terrible, just like the other night as well. We keep giving our wickets away,” said Bopara.
