Nader Chy’s directorial debut film ‘Lalchar’ gets censor certificate

‘Lalchar’–the directorial debut film of popular TV actor-director Nader Chowdhury has received the green signal from Bangladesh Film Censor Board recently and is expected to release on the fourth week of December.
Based on the novel ‘Nodi Upakhyan’ (The Story of River) by popular writer Imdadul Haq Milon, the government-grant film is co-produced by Impress Telefilm. The key cast of the film includes Anisur Rahman Milon, Channel i Sera Nachiya Mohona Mim, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Masum Aziz, Jhuna Chowdhury, Kazi Shila, Monjurul Islam Nantu, among others. Besides, Nader Chowdhury himself also played an important role in the film, which has involved more than 400 people in order to create a convincing atmosphere of ‘Lalchar’.
The screenplay of the film is written jointly by Kamrul Ahsan and Nader Chowdhury, while the background music has been done by Farid Ahmed. Popular singers Andrew Kishore and Dolly Shayontoni, novice singer Nakib Chowdhury (son of Nader Chowdhury) lent vocals to the songs of the film. Moreover, Sojan Mahmud is in camera and national award-winning Mohammad Ali is in makeup.
Nader Chowdhury said about the film, “Since this is my first directorial film, there has been absolutely no compromise. I expect that the film will certainly influence the viewers to go to the hall. The film’s story is built upon a strong foundation and I believe it will create a spark in the viewers’ minds.”
The story of the film is about the life of the inhabitants and communities of char and their everyday life, joy-sorrow, love-affairs. There are many families- who were landlords once upon a time, but lost their lands and lost almost everything in river erosion. Now to live their lives, they take different professions. Among them, a few families turned into fishermen and their foremost belief is that their much-anticipated day will come soon, when the lost char will rise again. And that day they will get their land back again. Each of them has various colourful dreams centring the rise of char. The story of the film will move forward from this point. l
