Weeklong �Humayun Ahmed Exhibition 2015� begins today

National Museum to remember Humayun

On the occasion of the 67th birth anniversary (November 13) of late popular writer Humayun Ahmed, who was considered to be one of the greatest writers in modern times of Bangladesh, will be remembered through a commemorative discussion at Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) today at 4:30 pm. The event will also include a weeklong exhibition titled ‘Humayun Ahmed Exhibition 2015’, which has been jointly organized by BNM and Bank Asia.
Presided over by Eminent educationist Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will join the programme as chief guest. Besides, eminent writer Anisul Haque, Imdadul Haq Milon, Humayun Ahmed’s wife Meher Afroz Shaon and Anya Prokash publisher Mazharul Islam will recall the memories of late iconic writer.
On the other hand, the exhibition will showcase the books, letters, paintings, and manuscripts of popular litterateur-filmmaker Humayun Ahmed’s films like ‘Ghetu Putro Komola’, ‘Ekattor Ebong Amar Baba’, ‘Payer Tolay Khorom’, ‘Hamid Miar Ijjot’, ‘Enga Benga Chenga’, ‘Megher Upor Bari’ and others.
Besides manuscripts and letters, the exhibition will also feature Humayun Ahmed’s memorabilia such as his used tea-cup, spectacles, Punjabis, muffler, T-shirt, heirlooms, wrist watches, awards, passport, bank credit card, membership card, his correspondence, chair which he was used for directing the films, his paintings and along with a rare collection of photographs which depict him at different stages in his life.
The exhibition will remain open to all every day from 9am to 4:30pm, until December 2.
