Awareness can prevent accident: Kanchan

Chairman of the ‘Nirapad Sarak Chai’ film actor Ilias Kanchan said awareness among people can prevent road accident. He said this at a meeting in Nageswari upazila of the district. Nirapad Sarak Chai and the sustainable rural infrastructure improvement project of the LGED jointly organised a day-long programme on ‘creating public awareness about road accident’ in the upazila yesterday. The programmes included rally, training and discussion.  Ilias Kancha led the rally, participated by students, vehicle drivers and local people. Later, training on creating awareness for over 300 drivers was held in Nageswari municipality hall. A discussion followed the programme, where Ilias Kanchan was the chief guest. Engineer Moshiur Rahman, superintendent of LGED of Rangpur region, presided over the meeting.  Among others, Nageswari upazila parishad chairman Abul Kasem Sarkar, Nageswari municipality mayor Abdur Rahman spoke in the discussion.
