Smuggled Indian sarees seized

OUR CORRESPONDENT, Jessore

Members of 26 Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh in Jessore recovered 3,000 pieces of Indian smuggled sarees from a Shadipur mahogany plantation on Wenesday night. Commanding officer of the BGB battalion said the seized goods worth about Tk3 crores were  handed over to customs yesterday morning. According to BGB sources, a contingent of BGB members, led by Lt Col Md Zahangir hossain, raided Shadipur mahogany plantation near Benapole port. No one has been arrested.
