Police arrested a fugitive, who was sentenced to life term imprisonment in a murder case, in Tangail on Wednesday. The convict is Jasim Uddin, 35, of village Bawer Kumarjani in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail. He was the prime accused in trader Abbas Ali murder case. Sources said Abbas Ali was a trader of Mirzapur Bazaar. He was killed on November 4, 2004. Sajeda Begum, wife of Abbas Ali, plotted to kill her husband after she developed affair with one Kalu Mia of the same village. Sajeda, her brother Jasim Uddin and Kalu with hired killers Raish Uddin, Jalal and Sanower killed Abbas Ali and left the body in an abandoned house at Bower Kumaerjani village. Abdul Majid, elder brother of Abbas, lodged a case accusing 8 people on November 18, 2004. After investigation police submitted charge sheet against the accused.
