Two Bangladeshi cattle traders were shot dead allegedly by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Tarali in India opposite to Taluigachha border in Satkhira sadar upazila early yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam, son of Sher Ali Biswas, a resident of Pancharki village under Satkhira sadar upazila, and Abdul Khaleq Sarder, a resident of Kakdanga village under Kalaroa upazila of the district.
Shajahan Ali, member of Bashdagaha union parishad, said BSF troops from Tarali camp in India opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi traders in the area when they were returning to the country with cattle in the dead of night. Nazrul and Khaleq were killed on the spot, he added.
