Prime suspect killed in �gunfight� with police
A person was killed during a gunfight with members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in Dipnagar Balur Math area near Gabtoli Bus Terminal of the capital yesterday.
Talking to The Independent, Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, said the gunfight occurred around 11:30pm and the bullet-hit person, Al Bani, 35, was brought to the DMCH by Assistant Sub Inspector Gautam Roy of Darus Salam Police Station around 12:15am.The on-duty doctors declared Bani brought dead, Haque added.
Sub Inspector Mohammad Ali , duty officer of Darus Salam Police Station told this correspondent that they came to know that the man sustained bullet injuries during a gunfight with DB personnel.
According to police sources, Bani was a key-suspect of the Huseni Dalan blast on October 26 that killed two people in the old part of the capital.
