BSA holds �Gono Sangeet Utsab� in memory of music exponents

In memory of veteran music exponents Mukunda Das, Sukhendu Chakraborty, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, Ajit Ray, Salil Chowdhury and Hemanga Biswas, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organised an event titled ‘Gono Sangeet Utsab’ at National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA on Tuesday.
In the programme, veteran Gono Sangeet artiste Fakir Alamgir, Nazrul Sangeet exponent Bulbul Mahalanabish, actress-singer Shimul Yousuf and Yesmin Ali rendered solo songs while artistes of Dhaka Sangskritik Dal, Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, and Wrishij Shilpi Goshthi presented chorus songs. Artistes of dance organisation Spandan performed a group dance directed by Anik Bose at the programmme.
The programme also featured a discussion, where Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam was present as chief guest. Presided over by BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, noted lyricist Professor Matlub Ali and folk artiste Fakir Alamgir attended the event as discussants. Music, Dance and Recitation Department director of BSA Sohrab Uddin delivered the welcome speech at the event.
