300 children attacked by diarrhoea
Laxmipur: More than 300 children were admitted to different clinics and hospitals after being affected with diarrhea and
pneumonia in the last seven days, reports UNB
Residential Medical Officer of Laxmipur Sadar Hospital Dr Md Anowar Hossain said nearly 70 children were admitted to the hospital on an average daily with complications of diarrhea and pneumonia.Children are affected by diarrhea and pneumonia due to rotavirus, he added.

42 arrested in Narail

Police in separate drives from Tuesday night to early yesterday arrested 42 people, including three BNP and Jamaat-Shibir activists, from different areas of the district on various charges.
Raqibul Islam, superintendent of police, said police conducted separate drives in the different areas and arrested 42 people. Among the arrestees, eight were from Sadar, 13 from Lohagara, eight from Kalia and 10 from Naragati upazila.

Man killed over land dispute
OUR CORRESPONDENT, Tangail

A man was killed over land dispute in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail on Tuesday.
The deceased was Fazol Mia, 55, of village Baghber in the upazila. Shamsul Haque, younger brother of the deceased said Abdur Rahim, Year Mahmud and Thandhu Mia of the village were filling earth in a disputed land of the village around 2pm. As another man Fazal Mia of the village interrupted them a clash erupted on the issue. At one stage, the three strangulated Fazal Mia. Later, he was rushed to Sakhipur hospital in the evening. But the attending doctors declared him dead.
Nurul Islam, son of Fazol Mia lodged a case with Sakhipur police station. Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Sakhipur police station Maksudul Alam said police recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police is trying to arrest the alleged killers.
